Vast-Lab research is focused on the use of ICT in the broader Cultural Heritage field. Until today, Vast-Lab participated as partner in eight international projects, of which five as coordinator.

VAST-LAB’ projects have always focused on expertise development and researchers’ training, in order to provide them with advanced skills necessary to tackle and solve contemporary cultural heritage related issues. The CHIRON (Cultural Heritage Informatics Research Oriented Network) project, specifically aimed at training and research, has provided excellent tools for the exchange of researchers at European level, and for the dissemination of acquired knowledge and the creation of new skills. These tools and experiences were further developed and expanded over the years, and were instrumental for the development of ARIADNE and PARTHENOS projects. Among the others achievements, these two projects highlighted once again the focus on the creation of advanced skills in the research area at European level.
